Herennius Etruscus, as Caesar, 249-251. Sestertius (Orichalcum, 28 mm, 18.23 g, 1 h), Rome. Q HER ETR MES DECIVS NOB C Bare-headed and draped bust of Herennius Etruscus to right, seen from behind. Rev. PRINCIPI IVVENTVTIS / S - C Herennius, as prince of the youth, standing front in military attire, head to left, holding baton in his right hand and spear in his left. Cohen 28. RIC 171a. An attractive example with a glossy brown-green patina. Struck from a somewhat worn reverse die, otherwise, very fine.
